 WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!

FALL 2011

Please come in and stop by the music room on our, Meet the Teacher Night, August 8th at 5:30 p.m.  I'd love to meet new faces and see returning students.  There will be so many opportunities this year in music for each student to participate in and shine!  I'd love to discuss different things cooking this year in Music.  We have so many new events including, an end of semester vocal recital, Vocal Performance and Rep, dance, and instruments.

If you have any questions, please contact my email address.

Please remind Parents/Students/Gardians that attendance for both, the dress rehearsal and show are required for earning a passing grade in music class.

What's Happenin' in
                              Vocal Rep. and Performance Club?

                                               WEDNESDAYS 3:15 PM

What a wonderful group of students we have this year!  Ms. Hannah, our wonderful pianist, and I are so pleased to work with you all!
A little about the club
This club is designed to work on the students' classical vocal abilities and build a strong foundation of singing repertoire.
Students will become affiliated with performing in front of audiences with proper stage artistry and composure.

What's Goin' on in Mass Choir?

How do we unify the sound?

  • Think before you sing!
  •  Vowels:  Ah, Eh, Ee, Oh, Oo
  •  Blend with the person next to you.
  •  learn your part well!

I have the Master list of students in Choir.  Students must show a great deal of leadership, commitment and character in both Choir and General Music to be a member.   Students struggling with these issues may be dismissed if problems arise.

               Whatcha Doin' in Honor Choir?

  • Getting to know one another's strengths/weaknesses

  • Unifying the vowels
       Ah, Eh, Ee, Oh, Oo-

What vowels are similar in placement?

  • Ah-Eh- Same mouth shape, lifted tongue for Eh
  • Ee-Oo- Same mouth shape, forward tongue for Ee
  •

Where is the vocal presence?

  • In your mask- front of face
